Mr Bungle - California
I know that nothing I can say about Mr Bungle will get anyone to change their minds, but I just wanted to give props to this album as being one of the most underrated albums I can think of. It is brilliant, glorious, every second of it. A real pity there will never be another.

Re: Mr Bungle - California
mr. bungle - california.... what can i say?
i was introduced to this album (and band) by an ex-girlfriend, who was more into the guitar-lasting corner of music (i am more the electronica guy), but i was _so_ positivley surprised by this record! IMHO it's one of the only records that span over the whole spectrum of emotions - in multiple ways! it goes from slow tempo to fast, from sentimentality to hard hard rock, from smoothly sung lyrics to distorted roaring... in short: it takes me each time on a journey through the rainbow of emotions. i simply love it ps: get i leon! listen to it yourself! but give it some time to sink in, don't chuck it away after listening two times. pps: i'm going to pop it into my stereo right now...

Re: Mr Bungle - California
Okay, not underrated by the people who have heard it; not heard by as many people as it deserves. I am such a douche.
Oh, and I read yesterday that the percussion on Retrovertigo is Mr. Patton beatboxing. I never caught that.

Re: Mr Bungle - California
I LOVE Mr Bungle and think that California is nothing compared to their second album, Disco Vilante. I makes California look like N-Sink. Also has anyone checked out his other side projects? Tomahawk is by far my fav. It is insane. Fantamos is almost as good but a little too insane even for me. I did like their album of movie scores. Just adding my $0.02.

Re: Mr Bungle - California
i bought california after hearing "pink cigarette" on internet radio. I admit i'm a bit slow to get used to the more experimental stuff like fantomas, but i think i might get disco volante, sounds like good logical step after "california". any recommendations?

Re: Mr Bungle - California
I actually prefer their first, self-titled album. maybe it's just because that's what i heard first but tracks like squeeze me macaroni and the girls of porn are classics to my ear.
