I've participated in a contest (vinylized 2008) and ended up as a runner up. Part of the deal was a workshop at the SAE. The audio engineer taught me such good mixing tips, that I've decided to remix my old tracks. Now, last year we did this combined project called 'Dreamgirl, I'm desperate for you' and my contribution was the track with the same name. I've taken it upon me to remix that track as well. You can listen to the tracks on my myspace (mp3's at 128 kbps) or check out my own website www.tfhats.com; choose in the audioplayer for the playlist 'close to oblivion' and press play for just listening or info for downloading the tracks (mp3's at 320 kbps). Only 'problem' I have with the contest is that I ended up as a runner up again in conclusion. And here I thought that I'd made some progress the last year.

Ah, crap...i wrote a whole critique of these tracks, but took too long to submit and it disappeared!

Anyway, paraphrasing: really liked how you worked a lot of different styles into the tracks, from old-skool/analog to synthpop to dark trance and beyond. A lot of these tracks really made me dance in my chair!
Great synth lines and beats! My only critique is the phased vocal on Les Terps Legers, which was a bit too warbly to be comfortable!
Fave track was Please Continue, for it's stops and starts and plenty of hooks!
Congrats again on your 2nd place! Yeah, disappointing to not win, but i'm sure you have made strides in your music, and you're submissions must be consistently among the best!

Thanks guys! At least it's good knowing that I'm on the right track and I appreciate it that you took the time to listen to my stuff and enjoyed it. The vocal effect in Les temps legers is a grain delay. This delay is now a 100% wet signal, but I forgot to change it when I remixed the track. I'm gonna put it on a return.
