Segue remix of Chemical Brothers EBW9
hello dark and dirties,
We have working on this for a while, with it going through several incarnations before we settled on this version. Road tested it at several gigs and the response has been great. Chemical Brothers - Electronic Battle Weapon 9 - Segue Remix http://seguesound.com/ebw9_segue_remix/ Enjoy! |

Re: Segue remix of Chemical Brothers EBW9
Sorry for the delay.. i meant to check this out a while back but went a-traveling.
The beginning minute or so has an acid line very reminiscent of the Chemicals' "Not Another Drugstore", which is, in my book, a great track. The bleepy bassline is groovy, though i would have liked to hear some more tone variation. As it played, the rhythm of the same note kept reminding me again of the CB's "Out Of Control", so i was anticipating the upshifted tones at the end of each loop, which never came. Funky lil break around 4 minutes. Stop-time is such a great trick to make the next note sound killer. And the distorted, cut vocal sample at the tail end is also very effective. All in all, very well produced...i wish more of the Chems' latest album was as old-school rockin' as your remix! Thanks for sharing

Thanks for taking the time and giving some feedback, much appreciated.
I agree with you comments about the bassline. It was a point of contention as we worked the track, and something we plan to re-visit in future versions of the remix. Chem's need more old school style and less salmon |
