Looks like a nice collection! Note that they start it off with "Firestarter" of course.

"Spitfire '05 version"?! Just how many alternate takes are there for the AONO tracks?!

Anyway, good for the Prodg for including the disc of rarities/live stuff. It's been a great career, and i think the greatest hits collection is a good idea, esp. for U.S. fans, since AONO came and went without much fanfare here...we need reminded of the glory days!

p.s. just heard "Hot Ride" in a tele preview for the crap movie "Steath"!

Re: the Prodigy - 'Their Law' the singles 1990 - 2005
all of the "05 Versions" are merely edits, nothing new

honestly... I find this plainly insulting, especially how much Liam hyped this release up. He explicitly stated that it wasn't going to just be a singles collection, and that it was going to be more of an anthology for the fans

...it was also supposed to include demo's, outtakes, alt versions, and new tracks

instead it's just a bog standard 'best of' release

- oh, and one of the many many delays for this release was Liam "had to tweak the new version of Firestarter more" ...funny how it's the normal version on it eh?

Re: the Prodigy - 'Their Law' the singles 1990 - 2005
Edits?! That's bollocks. i'm remembering the hatchet job on Orbital's "Work 1989-2001"...so many tracks were cut short

Well, i'm not fanatical about Prodigy like i've been with Chemical Brothers and Underworld (read: buying everything), but i have a few singles, boots and all the LPs. So, i'm at least excited about the comp's inclusion of:
Poison - 95 EQ
Charly (Alley Cat Remix)
Everybody in the Place (Fairground Remix)
Out of Space (Audio Bully's remix)
Voodoo People (Pendulum remix)
Under my Wheels (remix) (...maybe an edit? or the alt. take from one of the AONO singles?)

and most of disc 2.

Maybe the serious fans already have all this? i've not heard the above, though, so it'll be worth it. i hope!

But the difference is, the Orbital one was always advertised and pushed as a singles collection so it was always gonna include edits so that they could fit as many tracks in as possible. They still managed to fit in a few tracks that a lot of fans wouldnt have such as Frenetic, and radically different versions of Satan Spawn and Choice along with specially created shortenend versions of a lot of tracks (not just fade outs). I thought they did well to squeeze it in under 80mins in the end.

As for the Prodigy, we'll have to listen and find out but on the surface it doesnt look as though much work has been but into it to make it a proper singles collection (like the Orbital one), or something to collect for rare tracks (like a lot of greatest hits collections these days).

Re: the Prodigy - 'Their Law' the singles 1990 - 2005
For years I've bought every Prodigy single I could get my hands on, because of the impressively consistent quality of the various b-sides and remixes. I'm familiar with most of the tracks that are on there and most of the ones that aren't, and it's not what I'd call perfect, but it's not bad. The way I see it this is going to be a pretty great buy if you're just a casual fan, but if you already own all the albums it would be better to just buy a couple of the better singles. I would strongly recommend the Poison, Breathe, Charly and Out of Space singles to anyone who likes the Prodigy, and none of the other ones are crap, at least through the Fat of the Land years. Reactions to the recent material have been generally mixed... but anyway... I might pick this up at some point just because I'm something of an obsessive completist and there are a few thing on there I don't have, but this is a release strictly for obsessive completists and those who only want ONE Prodigy record.

Re: the Prodigy - 'Their Law' the singles 1990 - 2005
that version of Under My Wheels is probably either the one that was on the Girls single, or on the US iTunes

(I am almost positive those two are exactly the same.. but just in case)

and neither of the versions are markedly different than the album version, one has a Kool Keith sample "rock n' roll"

I might still buy it - or wait for it to show up on "that" Russian website...
as there are only a few tracks on it which are desirable:
Out Of Space (Audio Bullys Remix)
Razor (Original Mix)
Back 2 Skool (Original Mix)
Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix)
Voodoo Beats (Original Mix)
The Way It Is (Live Remix)

-> unless Razor is merely the Flint track

btw - which reminds me of how much crap Baby's Got a Temper was - I mean, the original version (by Flint) didn't even use rohypnol as the chorus, it was actually called "no name no number" and was pretty good

I like the album art, and I'm glad this new album isn't a mere collection, but actually deviations you can't find anywhere else.

No Chemical Brothers mixes.
