*spills coffee on keyboard* BTW, I meant to say 'I have not actually heard it', but I did read pretty strong reactions of distaste by certain people on the net. Specifically this thread comes to mind. http://forums.southernlord.com/viewt...er=asc&start=0 Last edited by GreenPea; 11-22-2006 at 11:30 AM. |

Re: joanna newsom - ys
yeah, i'm always down with anti-"finally some good real music" arguments, but maybe not from this website...
"So you lot can listen to scrawny norwegians squeel and cackle about goats, but you can't take a bit of the newsom?" hahaha |

![]() I am actually surprised how many people in that site have given the record a listen to begin with. It has gotten more attention than here in any case. |

Re: joanna newsom - ys
I have this feeling she peaked with 'The Book of Right On'.
Although I remember a track from...2003 on Magnatune (I 'tink?) in which she didn't seem nearly as eccentric.

![]() Seems an interesting mix of classical and indie introspection, but musically not really my cup of tea, i don't think. Though i did dig the new age stylings of electroharpist Andreas Vollenweider (sp?) that my dad used to play in the car when i was a kid!
