It's 1999 again!
As we eagerly await the new Underworld album and anticipate a summer scored by "Scribble"... we also have:

New single ("Swoon") and album ("Further") by The Chemical Brothers.

New (amazingly good) record by Hybrid ("Disappear Here") - ok, this came out in March, but it's been on endless loop since then.

New tracks by Orbital! Hooray!

Seems Leftfield is also making a comeback.

Fluke is also staged to tour.

And for the real deep diggers, i hear there's new Apollo 440 to be released.

Now if only we'd get a second LP from The Propellerheads, it really will be 1999 all over again!

Call me old fashioned, but i love all these bands and have strong nostalgic feelings for a time when electro ruled the airwaves and was dare-i-say more exciting than its been the past 5 years or so.

Fluke is going to tour again? That's good news; I was wondering when I'd hear about them again. It's been like 5 years since Puppy was released and I haven't heard any talk about 2 Bit Pie. Bring on the '99 vibes!

FSOL just released their very Dead Cities-esque new album Environments 3 as well.

They've been playing new tracks on their recent shows, I think one was played on a Six Music show they did lately. I had a glance at some info over at the forums on loopz.co.uk a couple of weeks back.

Environments 3 contains a couple of Dead Cities era outtakes but it's 3/4 all newly recorded FSOL material. Mix of ambient, neoclassical and glitchy bits. It's marvellous.

Hmmm, more than that:
On June 20th, Orbital will unveil its first new material since 2004 with the release of a brand new double single. Consisting of tracks titled “Don’t Stop Me” and “The Gun is Good”, the effort is said to “represent the signature Orbital sound, with hints of new elements, and definitely a few surprises, signifying a band still at [its] creative peak.”

Still waiting for new news about the Fluke tour, but the bandmembers have mentioned it's happening in 2010:
