Lucid Rhythms - The Fear
hello hello hello there fellow dirty people,
it's been a while. i've been a bit busy lately, apo-poly-loggies.
so anyway, i created an album. it's a guitar/piano/noise kinda affair, but it's probably my favourite stuff that i've ever done.
anyway, down to brass tacks:

you can listen to the tracks there, or download them individually,
or download the whole thing by magically clicking here: http://www.archive.org/compress/Bohella

cheers, and much love!

Hi Carp,

I skimmed through the tracks, and heard some sounds that definitely piqued my interest. I've always enjoyed the use of guitar in conjunction with electronic or programmed-type music as the live performance gives the music an organic quality. The drones, the walls of sound and the effects added are amazing. I'll be sure to download your whole work and listen in detail.

Re: Lucid Rhythms - The Fear
One line on U/W live today reminded me of a feeling I had when I was listening to your "orgy of noises" two days ago.

One of your tracks made me think of "the soundtrack of beautifully recorded natural sounds that I was taken with". That track was called "Simple peal" or something for a couple of years ago on U/W live.

Not much for noises in general but Simple Peal made me try to widen my notion of what I call MUSIC (kinda down-to-earth).
However....
While I´m still working on it the best track for me will be nr 9. It really makes me constantly try to fill in the fragments of the melody I almost can hear in my head.
Honestly, I don´t know whether there is a melody or if it´s just in my imagination. Aquazone is a kind of twilight zone. Very interesting!

thanks! i tried to make it more abstract, so you have to fill in the rest in your head...you hear little fragments of tune, chord changes, parts that sound like there could be drums, a voice singing in the background...the synth distortion creates a nice rhythm that i'm quite pleased with.
so thanks!

someone originally made a music video for it when it was released on a compilation album on futonic records:

Re: Lucid Rhythms - The Fear
carp dreamer,

I had a listen, and really enjoyed the experience. On a few tracks, the distorted guitar was clipping, but i'm sure you can EQ that. I didn't really dig the distorted leads and the vocals - not that they weren't interesting, it was just because the interplay of the piano and the more acoustic-sounding guitar were so lovely, so putting extra layers was kind of distracting. But hey, it's your choice and it's unique, for sure! Great atmosphere throughout!
