Let the submersion begin (Underworld addicts, need help)
I remember a time in my life that was hard for me. During my 13 and 14 year old range, i was having a hard time getting adjusted to the world. But the great thing was, that i was getting heavy into Underworld. I started buying up their albums and some of their singles. I went and bought the Everything, Everything LIVE DVD and it was like, wow, yeah. but anyways.

since i got all their albums, i sort of, put Underworld on hold. After their last album, i had my time with it for awhile, then soon put it on the shelf. I bought other bands records, and was listening/sampling/getting into other genres.

but

i am at yet, another hard time in my life. a time that greatly needs the return of Underworld, the only problem is, what i have of them, ive listened to, to the bone. im going to provide a list of everything i have from Underworld, and i need feedback on my next purchases for Underworld music. Because i know there is alot of music i have yet to hear from my faviorite band, that i really want to listen to. Everything in my collection ive bought legit and have a hard copy except for European Club Gig, which there is no true hard copy, same with Boot Leg Babies.

My List:
Albums:
A Hundred Days Off
Beaucoup Fish
Dubnobasswithmyheadman
Second Toughest In The Infants

Singles:
Born Slippy
Cowgirl #2
Cowgirl #1 (EP)
Singles Box Set
Pearls Girl EP
Dirty Epic/Cowgirl

Compilations:
Bootleg Babies
European Club Gig
Everything, Everything
Underworld 1992 - 2002

Videos:
Everything, Everything DVD

My newest additions to my collection are European Club Gig and Bootleg Babies.

anyways, please help!

A great place to start would be their Dark & Long EP, the 6-track one with Thing in a Book. You might be able to find it on eBay like I did.

Right now all I could find was this one going for AU $35.00 which is ridiculous I think I got mine for somewhere around 8 bucks.

It has a bunch of tracks you probably haven't heard yet, and it's one of my favorite EPs of theirs. Excellent stuff.

WORD! This is the first thing you have to get, Caprice. There's also another Dark & Long EP but I don't really know how that sounds.

Thing In A Book itself is GENIOUS. Always keeps me wondering how the fuck they can fill 20 minutes with so few sounds and STILL keep it so interesting!

yea - you def need BOTH Dark and Long Ep's

I say that b/c one has "Thing in a Book" and the other has a great edit of Dark Train that transitions into "Mos Ospitable" which is probably their best ambient track and it's also got 215 Miles on it, which is another f-off long UW song

do you have Born Slippy - the original mix single?

Dinosaur Adventure 3D and Two Months Off had great bsides on them IMO. The mixes were just ok, but def worth a purchase.

after that - I think you'll be set... I mean there's always UW remixes, but a lot of them a hard to track down nowadays. Off the top of my head (which also shouldn't be too hard to find), you should grab:

Depeche Mode - Barrel of a Gun, get the one w/ both the UW hard and soft mixes, the soft one is the best
Massive Attack - Risingson, technically I think it's just darren but it's labeled as UW... and to me, it sounds more like someone try to sound like UW, but not having all the magic... not that it's a bad song, but it sounds like a UW improv

definitely hunt down both Dark & Long EP's. They've got some great tracks that you can't find anywhere else. The 6 track one is kinda hard to find but well worth the effort for tracks like Thing in a Book and Burts. The 4 track EP has the wonderful (and I do mean wonderful) Most Ospitable and 215 miles is very good as well.

This should really be in the Underworld forum, not Headset but I would just get onto ebay and try to pick up the singles with b-sides for cheap dollars. There aren't many bad underworld songs out there.

Get Mmm Skyscraper I Love You as well with Jam Scraper. You'll love it. If you can find the Mother Earth/The Hump as well, then grab it. And if you can't find any of that (plus what others have said), then I'm sure someone would be happy to give you them on mp3. That's how I got all of mine.
