Dodgy Journey To Mars
This was inspired by two dirty mixes featured here. KOS/SputnikK’s Solar Mix from a year ago and Alaundre’s SPACE mix from earlier this year. As a result, a few tracks featured in those mixes are also included here because I like them. From those mixes, I’ve listened to so much more music including various netlabels which are also featured here.
I started this some time in mid-April thinking I could do it in a week. Then a week later I had a newborn so most of it was put together in the dark hours between 2-4am when I was feeding the young un. Anyway, it’s been sitting around for about a month now and has gone through about twelve different incarnations but I like the way it flows. It has some good transitions (I think) and a few fade-in-fade-outs which are fine by me. All the tracks were selected based upon them being either current or old favourite tracks. It also has some elements of some of my previous mixes which fit better here. I’ve tried to create a sort of theme for the whole mix which was partly influenced by my recent re-reading of the The Pliocene Epic by Julian May. Take it as you will. Thanks for listening. Wow. At first, your mix dulled me a bit into half-sleep on the tube. But when UW and Marko Fürstenberg kicked in I was jolted alive and instantly started excessive foot-tapping. Also, the vocal parts blend in well with the tunes. Thanks for the nice, uplifting mix.
