sonic youth massive appreciation thread
so i just dug out EVOL. or, more specifically, i dug it out about a week ago. and it's all i've played for a week. expressway to yr. skull is the greatest thing ever written. i learnt it on the guitar in about 20 mins....
everything about s.y. is awesome. their tunings. their videos. their long sections of noise like at the end of "the diamond sea". major question is, should i fork out 45 quid to see them perform daydream nation?

Re: sonic youth massive appreciation thread
SY is the best band on earth.
they've been around for a long time and they still are that sonic youth as which they started out. SY just makes everybody else sound pretentious (except Lou Reed of course :P) /Tomi |

Ciccone Youth rules, so underatted. although it was a side project, it very much retained the lore and fun of sonic youth with a dash of jim morrison.

Re: sonic youth massive appreciation thread
yea, ciccone youth was sick...that cover of "addicted to love" is hilarious, aparently it was done in one of those "cover the hits" karaoke booths...
also, the reissue of their first ep is wicked awesome, the live traxx from 1981 are worth their weight in gold...
