Slowdive
borrowed their 2cd anthology 'catch the breeze' off a mate last night & it reminded me off my teenage years when i was into these and other bands of their ilke. never really dug the shoegazing label, always thought it some poor journos attempt at pigeonholeing a number of bands who liked fx pedals & feedback but actually sounded quite different.
anyways if your into shimmering guitar melodies from a band with great sonics or as my mate puts it 'blisspop' its worth checking out

Re: Slowdive
also, check out "blue skied and clear" a morr music comp...it's a slowdive tribute with remixes and whatnot. really beautiful, if you like that sort of thing.

Re: Slowdive
i also really dig Seefeel's earlier output (pre-Warp) that sort of captures the blisspop/electropop feel remarkably well. there's a great video on youtube of Seefeel live.
Polyfusia - CD collects the previous EPs released before Quique http://www.discogs.com/release/61008 and Quique, a straight up classic http://www.discogs.com/release/145318 |
