Re: collectors' corner
so my 8 track Buick Project (Remixes and Production) Showreel CD arrived today featuring two excellent remixes of Vanilla Monkey...

the Buick Project being Nic Fanciulli & Andy Chatterley...

the first mix, Buicks Early Doors remix is quite minimal in its featuring of Underworld (hardly any KH Vocals), but you certainly know its Vanilla Monkey...its a nice building groove

the second mix, the Buick Project Mix - is likely to be the one on a 12" or something, it features more of the instrumentation of teh original and more mumbled KH lyrics...

maybe both will feature on CD or 12" somewhere..i'd like to see that but if i was to choose one, it'd be the second mix...neither mix is an instant classic, but then again they are really quite far away from the original version and so do the job well, i'm not sure everyone will like them, but i do, its the kind of track that plays and you wonder what it is, and when someone tells you you go.. oh...and then try and find it

the production and remix quality are excellent, i hope the boys like what these and all the remixers are doing with their current work...

Re: collectors' corner
oh and my DM Boots arrived today...

to be honest they are not very well done, and look a bit rushed... i was waiting to hear back from Darren regarding his input, because i think he was the only one involved in these, as its his signature on them... but i think he's busy

basically its a pair of size 4 DM's with red (aids awareness ribbons) two jelly snakes (to symbolise King of Snake?) stuck on the sides, a train ticket from Romford, a Train with 'trainspotting' stuck on the side, three cans of empty Stella Artois hanging off the back (lager, lager lager), and a soldier with a gun sitting on top... the labels and aids messages have been stuck on with blu tac type substance...

i've tidied it up a bit and will take some photo's and post them here

i'm happy nonetheless, my £50 helped the cause and i own a one off dodgy Darren Emerson designed and signed item... after all it is Underworld memoribilia...

Matt

Re: collectors' corner
Does anyone know how much a double vinyl white label (with handwritten track titles) pressing of Beacoup Fish is approximately worth? I don't think that many were ever produced.
All the best,

Anyway, since I haven't been able to generate any interest from the usual 'rare second hand records' outlets, I'll probably pop these on ebay at some point soon. I have a letter from JBO to certify that they are genuine.

Re: collectors' corner
new in...

The End - 2 x CD compilation album from 1998 (limited edition with postcards) includes: Way Back - Darren Emerson exclusive track recorded at Underwater studio in 1995 (while he was still in UW)

also

JBO 10 Years Sampler - the same as the red JBO sampler with 8 Ball and Jumbo, except this is the 5 track promo CD-R in plastic wallet - as opposed to the red card sleeved version (never seen this promo version before)

and

Soul II Soul - Volume III - Just Right - LP vinyl... sleeve and inners designed by Tomato (these are nice desined sleeves)
