The band are putting videos of the London 2012 opening ceremony, along with the date 27.7.22 (the 10-year anniversary of the ceremony) on various social media. Merch drop? Single release? Isles of Wonder re-release?

The album itself probably couldn't get released because of the LOCOG copyright issues. But, if we're lucky, they could maybe do a digital release of all the Underworld remix tracks used in the Athlete's Parade. High Contrast released an EP with all of his tracks used for that, so I don't think there are any copyright issues with LOCOG regarding those tracks.

But, it's probably another merch drop, and if there's a 12", I'm not sure what they'd put on it. And I Will Kiss along with a demo version? Or maybe Caliban's Dream on the B-side?

The athlete's parade tracks would be wonderful (especially as there were a few unheard and unused ones in reserve, to be used if the athletes took longer). I was cursing at the TV when the commentators were talking over new UW remixes!

I wonder if the band had a 'rights revert to us after 10 years' clause in their deal with Locog?

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony we are releasing And I Will Kiss and Caliban’s Dream together on vinyl for the first time, and 50% of profits from the sale of the record will go directly to the British Olympic Foundation, a charity operated by the British Olympic Association that supports grassroots development and Team GB.

In 2011 we were working with Danny Boyle at the National Theatre in London.

One day in Springtime… we had a meeting with him. In his ‘office’ there was a huge model of the new stadium where the 2012 Olympics were going to be staged, and where Danny was going to direct the Opening Ceremony.

He asked us (Underworld) if we would “Take responsibility for all aspects of music and sound for the show". We said yes.

He said “You will of course be pretty much Invisible". We said yes.

He talked about the different segments of the ceremony and the importance of the volunteers.

He described one significant piece that he wanted us to compose.

He said “It’s going to be set in the time of the Industrial Revolution”. We said yes, understood.

He said “I want to have a thousand drummers... maybe more.. what do you think? Can you take care of that?” We said yes.

And started work on building ‘Pandemonium’.
