Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
It was fairly boring merch tbh : the £50 box set, the vinyl, yellow Rez 12", three Art Prints as a set at £100, a gig poster, and a dubnobass shirt. Some of the dubnobass shirt had the date/ venue on the back, and I missed out on the shirt.

Actually, the collection of samples is on Karl's desk, and he triggers them with his CD-J. Here's a better picture of them:

The crowd was astonishing. Truly "good vibrations" as Karl likes to say. I've seen this band 10+ times and I've never felt energy from the crowd like I did in London - and for music everyone knew by heart. Brilliant audience. No topping it.

They also had 10 sets of proofs of the prints (£150)...

That siren sound had regular appearances at the end of Nuxx from 94-99. It's had scant cameos since then, but it sounds like Rick's brought it back (or a recreation of it, since it doesn't quite sound the same) recently for some nostalgia.

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
i understand the rationale behind the show, and doing the tracks as they are on the album.

they sound good, and from the clips they did a great job on them.

however, for the last several years, i fear they have gone away from what made them
exciting as a live band. doing improvs. and that saddens me.

listening to the early shows, and even the one jam on the boxset shows they have the
capability to do a lot more than just individual songs.

maybe next year they will consider that.

in the meantime, getting a recording or if they make a dvd, watching it once would be
enough for this type of show. because it will not change much.

later

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
Having seen the show, I assure everyone that if there is a live recording / dvd etc, that it will be worth watching and rewatching : it isn't just "album in full", but a recreation of the record using new instrumentation and kit, with many live debuts and very rarely played songs... and a crowd as fervent as any show of theirs I have seen.
