Thirded.
Just passed that TiaB glitch while listening to disc 3. I'm familiar with it. The guys (re-)released their stuff like they wanted it to be, and I'm happy with it. |

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
...by the way, I would've paid at least € 20 more for the following box set bonus:
Disc 3.5 (remastered) 01 - Spoon Deep 02 - Why Why Why 03 - Dark & Long (Danny Howells Mix) 04 - Cowgirl (Winjer Mix) 05 - Dark Hard 06 - 215 Miles + a DVD with all the Dubno-related videos on it. ![]() |

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
Now that I've received my super deluxe edition and ingested it fully, I'm sorry to say I'm not satisfied with the design.
I assumed the yellow slipcase was a kind of translucent thing or at something that otherwise covered up the proper black and white album. I was wrong. For some reason, this version of Dubnobass is yellow. It's plainly less attractive and I suppose they did it to differentiate the package from the others, but it really puts me off. The contents of the book are beautiful and provocative but they are not Dubnobass. They are some other underworld record, perhaps one yet to be created. This seems like a missed opportunity to present the gorgeous and truly iconic original album imagery in a deluxe format, perhaps alongside other pieces from the era: the Cowgirl/Dirty Epic EP, Dark & Long, Skyscaper, etc. Again I stress that this work is beautiful, it's just not work that reflects this album. I'm utterly perplexed by this choice. Perhaps the thinking was that the original artwork would be reproduced for the vinyl reissue? Overall the Barking deluxe edition was the more successful object. The John Savage essay is lovely though.

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
Having listened to Thing in a Book at LEAST weekly if not daily for the last two years (it fits very nicely in my walk to work) I can say without question it has had work done to it, and not just made louder, just that some odd ticks are still there. Rick talked about wanting to preserve each tiny moment as accurately as possible for the live rendition of the album, and I suspect a similar thought process played here. That or maybe it was intentional all along.

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
A lot of the "missing" tracks have already been reissued either on 1992-2012 or on the A Collection.
