I used to love Luetin, but to me it sounds dated now. Although I still like how vocally intense it gets.

but, by far the most interesting are the much longer versions of mo move and twist. twist is more than two minutes longer: 8.47. it ends with a harder, percussive bit. damn good. and mo move, twice as long at 13.49, extends with what became the ambient-ish second part of little speaker on ahdo, but then longer. which sounds pretty logical, actually...
Im' dying to hear this!! Thanks for sharing this into rtsr

Two Months Off (but i'm really sick of it right now, still including it because it is a great song)
Ansum

kind of meh:

Little Speaker (would love this if not for that horrible off-beat percussion thing)
DA3D (days when I really like this but mostly it's too aggro for me)
The others just kind of exist with no feelings one way or the other i.e. the cuddle bunnies of AHDO

What's the other 2%?
Also, I'm pretty sure I'm a member of RTSR. I mean, I know for a fact I'm signed up to the tracker. But whenever I try to use my Yahoo login to get on the FTP (mageepuppy@optonline.net), I get refused. Was I not confirmed or something?

You are indeed a member, joined Feb 11, 2010. I had this problem recently that I couldnt login. I fixed it by changing my yahoo password.

Re: Ansum — A Hundred Days Off industry promo
I think AHDO is a very good album... but it could have been an incredible one had there been some changes here and there, like:

Mo Move should've been longer. Before this thread came up - I was actually about to make an 'extended mix' of it using the album version, those two tracks ripped off "Word Image Sound Play", "Ansum" and "Quick Bit for the Web" (and probably "Tiny Clicks" as well) -> now that it seems this 'early version' of the track is going to be shared... It saves me a bit of work!

DA3D should've been switched for the "RCM Version"

that horrible off-beat percussion on "Little Speaker" just shouldn't have existed.

I would've changed the sequencing of the album as well (and probably switched some of the bsides for album tracks -> I just find "Ballet Lane" boring)

I still REALLY like "Luetin" but yea... it totally sounds like it was a track from the early 00's -> kinda Royksopp-y... maybe it should've been longer as well - with a ambient intro (like how they played it live a few years ago, or on the John Peel show)

Plus "Twist" was such a great song live... but it definitely doesn't have the same 'oomph' on the album version... maybe pushed Karl's guitar a bit in front more, had the track start with the percussion, then had the piano fade in (so it sounds less of a "Banstyle retread")

Re: Ansum — A Hundred Days Off industry promo
Just went through AHDO again, and I have to say that except for possibly DA3D (a little too aggro, as noted) I love every track on it. Even Ballet Lane does the trick, with the flowing guitars delivering a dreamy interlude feel before things kick back in with the bounce of Luetin. Good stuff.

In fact, reviewing it, I realized that track-for-track is almost certainly my favorite Underworld studio album, so...really looking forward to this promo!!
