Re: 2010-11-20 Brixton Academy, London
They found a small amount of something they didnt approve of. Thrown out onto the street, tickets retained. Probaly my fault but still hurts like hell not seeing my beloved underworld. specially when who knows when they will be back...

Re: 2010-11-20 Brixton Academy, London
Well that was a bit silly.... especially as security didn't appear to be doing a particularly thorough search of people.. it was just the usual pat down with me.
Manchester isn't sold out, take the hit and get a train up. Anyway, some good long videos here: Downpipe & ALAF: Scribble: Dirty Epic: Moaner: |

cheers for posting the videos - looks like there was a fucking amazing vibe at that gig - better than kentish town a couple months ago. painful to watch and know i wasnt there though
![]() ![]() ![]() thats the thing i think we was singled out for extra searching by security - no standard pat down but all pockets turned inside out, wallet opened and rifled through - looked in places we really didnt expect (not in that way though) ah well. cant make it up to manchester this week neither. good to hear a good time was had by all anyway |

Thanx for the linx, razorpilot. I waz there at the front, not being a disco biscuit bunny, just enjoying the rhythmz, high on life. Dirty Epic, my favourite song ever, so powerfully sung...amazing...brought up such emotionz in me.

The whole place was dancing. Only the drugged three fucks in the front thought they were at a mosh pit. And as far as I could see, the vibe of rest of the place was not influenced by the atmosphere created by drugfucks in the front. A lot of angry faces from people who were trying to have a good time without being pushed around, yeah... Most fun I ever had was when one of those nuts decided to crowdsurf, and I threw him face first down the front stage. Double win, since crowdsurfers were gladly escorted outside, without reentering. Back to the gig: the playlist is boring if you have heard it multiple times, but Downpipe-ALAF-NuTrain-Scribble is a great opener. Bird 1 is the start of what I'd call "the break", with Diamond Jigsaw having the same vibe. And the place goes mental with Cowgirl-Rez, KoS and Nuxx. Dirty Epic is then a bit mellower to end with the Moaner bang. But if you then listen their older live work... So much better, because it is much more fluent and not just "tracks from an album" but whatever Rick cooked up in his studio. I still miss nuxx at Glasto in 1998-1999ish, where the buildup was phenomenal and new for a track that has been played to death. |

As for the crowd surfers, I cant say taking the disco biscuits has ever made me want to crowd surf. I find them quite annoying but its just part of the gig and over in a few seconds. doesnt really spoil the vibe much. I think the current setlist is a decent setlist. It is a shame that theyve decided to play the same thing all the tour but enjoy it and get down and dance.
