Summadayze-festivals in Australia january 2009

Underworld is going to give the Australian Underworld fans what they need on three of the four Summadayze day-festivals, january 2009.

As I am in need of some Underworld all the time, and planning a trip to Australia at the moment, around january 2009, I would like to ask our Australian friends (might as well start networking now ), and anyone else:

Has anyone ever been to one of those Summadayze festivals? Are they worth the price? I don't really care for the rest of the line-up (amongst which are some Dutch dj's which I, as a dutchman, consider a bit too much on the mainstream side).

And what about the venues? One will be held in Melbourne, Sydney Myer Music Ball (1th january, almost sold out); one in Gold Coast, Doug Jennings Park (3rd january); and one in Perth, The Esplanade & Supreme Court Gardens (4th january). Any info and tips about these are much appreciated!

I plan to see Underworld play at Summerfieldayze at the Gold Coast. I have not been to this festival before, but my friends say its lots of fun. Doug Jennings Park is not the greatest venue, but it has more space than many other festivals. The fact that it is on Saturday 3rd January is another plus, as it is not new years day, and hopefully the number of messy youngsters wont be as high.

Summerdaze is ok but tends to have lots of 18+ teenagers who dont really appreciate the music and are there to just get trashed and the melbourne Summerdaze is on New Years day so alot of people are still going from the night before. The venue is Myer Music bowl where Daft Punk played this time last year and they had 15,000 rocking. It is an outdoor ampitheatre and the sound is good if you are up towards the front. Im not a festival person so we are hoping they will announce their own separate tour soon.
We are mad Underworld fans and over 30 so will be really disappointed if it is Underworlds only gig in Australia.
We've seen them play previously at Big Day out and then their own gig in Melbourne 1998 and 2004. Seriously excited about seeing them again. Please let me know if you think there might be a slight chance of them doing their own gig, otherwise we'll have to go to Summerdaze.

If other gigs haven't been announced by now, I doubt that they will happen.

I will be seeing them at the Gold Coast's Summerfieldayze. Having friends who are performing means we have VIP passes and we have decided to ride in style and have arranged a limo for the day.

Underwolrd are playing 9.30-11.00pm at Summerfiledayze Gold Coast.

Very happy with the set time. Although with an impressive lineup all day, its going to be a pretty epic festival

Looks like it'll be 1:30 at each of the festivals. As a headliner, I was hoping for 2:00. Oh well. 1:30 is better than 0:00.
