biographies.
I'm looking for an interesting biography, I'm not just talking about historic biographies, but something about somebody really interesting.
Now, i'm looking forward to getting Helmut Newton's and Leonard Cohen's biographies. Any recomendation? |

Re: biographies.
Ooooh I second that. Everything he's written is great. I just finished reading "Perfectly Reasonable Deviations from the Beaten Track", a collection of his letters compiled by his daughter. It's not exactly spell-binding, but in the interest of building as complete an image of the man as possible, it was pretty valuable.
But, yeah, "Surely You're Joking..." is what got me obsessed with the man.

Dispatches From the Edge: . . . Anderson Cooper.
Rather psuedo-biog. but a great read none-the-less. I'd be his groupie bitch anyday.

Ha, ha, ha. Forget my HoBag side.
His heritage will floor you, and, however grand and awesome it is, I'm not even referring to his mum.

Re: biographies.
I just got Alejandro Jodorowsky's Psychomagie. Approches d'une thérapie panique. And i found it simply fantastic. It's somewhere between his strange biographie and a combination of fantastic tales.
So far, he is the most interesting guy I know. I bet he has tons of real stories yet to be told. |

Re: biographies.
I really enjoyed this book, but I had a keen interest in surrealism too.
Revolution of the Mind: The Life of Andre Breton by Mark Polizzotti funny stuff in it - must have been crazy to run with this pack. I just got Redemption Song - bio of Joe Strummer. Mostly I got it becuase of a line from Damien Hirst's book "a funny thing happened on the way to work today". Joe and Damien are sitting around talking about his big shark sculpture and Damien get's around to asking Joe what's the biggest thing he ever killed after being quizzed by Joe about killiong the shark. Without hesitation Joe answers "my career". Made me want to read up on this guy, had me laughing hard. |
