Amsterdam HMH Setlist so far...
Lloyd is a star! I think we all need to donate money to his phone bill!
Improv into Bamboo to start Little Speaker - Karl left the stage to watch and dance Improv into BS Boy Boy Boy with Rick singing! Improv into Crocodile Break for Poem Jungle intro to Jumbo Shudder/KoS Moaner BB Rez/Cowgirl as the encore. Once again, a delightfully diverse set compared with the gigs from 2007. I am getting waaaaaay too excited about the gigs in London now.

What A Night!
Seriously had an awesome night! My girlfriend isn't that into electronic music, but even she had a beautiful night! IMO it is pretty cool that we could buy the live albums of Köln and Rotterdam. I just bought the Köln album since I'm just a student and I just don't have that much money... ATM I'm listening to last night and that's just too cool! Maybe my review will be a bit more tommorrow when I'm sober... Sleep well, cheers Matthijs aka. DwarfeD... |

Improv into Bamboo to start
Little Speaker - Karl left the stage to watch and dance Improv into BS Nuxx with Billy Goat bassline Boy Boy Boy with Rick singing! Improv into Crocodile Two Months Off Dark Train (?)/Kittens Break for Poem Jungle intro to Jumbo Spikee Shudder/KoS Moaner Holding The Moth BB Cowgirl/Rez Hmm, I don't recall Dark Train being played... i've edited the tracklist with BS Nuxx/Billy Goat, Spikee and Holding the Moth. (not sure where exactly that was played...somewhere near the end). I didn't get the cd of this so I can't verify the tracklist exactly. Again it was a very varied set and as you can see very different from the Rotterdam one. I liked the R'dam one better, preferring hearing stuff like Air Towel, BS original and Deep arch over Boy Boy Boy and Holding the Moth, both of which didn't impress me at all. This show seemed more fragmented and was continuously changing pace. Not sure if this was intentionally done or just a result of them trying to be more freeform and improvisational. I guess it did keep things interesting, although at the cost of some of the flow of the R'dam gig. Then again, Stimpee seemed to think this show was better (although I suspect that is largely due to the fact that they played Kittens ) About the horse: at one point, the lighting guy was parading in front of the stage wearing a horse's head.... that was weird.

I really liked how they played slower tunes all throughout the set as they really are good at those. Although after BS Nuxx it started kicking and the transition to the next tune was very forced and killed the buzz a bit. You had to start again, but that takes guts I think and that's what I like. Moaner not being the predicatble set closer was also a real bonus. I always hope for something like Cups (the slow part) or Sola Sistim to be played right after tune like that as they are some of the best things they've done imo. The version of Jumbo was just amazing, loved it. I hate when people instantly start to chat though whenever there's no beat or the song is in transition to a slower part. I had som very dumb girls in front of me who were obviously there just for the scene or something. Ugh, why pay the money for it then. Guess not everybody is a fan of the music and they just came to check it out of they heard it's good dance music, but Underworld for me is better than that label of 'dance music'. Anyways awesome night and they seemed to be in a pretty good mood themselves Karl going mental at the end of Kittens. Edit: Lenny Penne vocals during Bamboo as well.
