I'm not a Berliner but I know the city fairly well. I don't think there are any bars near the venue, so maybe meeting in the centre (somewhere near Hackescher Markt?) is an idea, then metro/taxi it to the venue.

BTW, it's a bit late notice but if anyone needs a place to stay in Berlin, I've got a spare airbed at the flat I'm staying in. Will exchange for beer

Well, despite the Kiez/Reeperbahn being THE entertainment district of Hamburg, I learned it doesn't feature too many nice, low-volume bars/pubs suitable for sitting down, drinking and talking a little.

I suggest meeting at the Scheune. Unfortunately, their website is under construction (as half the web), so here's a map and their Google Maps entry. I haven't been there nor seen the place but it's close to the venue and I am told it's a good place to sit and drink, plus they serve food! Thus, even with "Scheune" meaning "barn", I hope this will be ok. If not, there are some alternatives round the corner, one of which is hopefully open on a Monday afternoon.

As for the time: As Doors are open from 7:00 pm at the Docks, I think 5:00 pm might be reasonable.



Also, I offer one seat for a transfer from Hamburg to the Berlin gig sometime Tuesday afternoon. Just PM me till Tuesday noon.

The Scheune sounds good to me. I'm already getting myself a bit hyped about tomorrow, got my bag packed, tickets ready in hand & I'm just counting the hours until I can hop on the train to Hamburg tomorrow morning :-)

Sounds good . 5pm outside the pub? Or is there a usual way of setting up a dirtymeet (I'm such a newbie, no U/W T-Shirt, and it's gonna be cooold ... )

That makes the two of us I'll probably put on a Roskilde Festival 2007 t-shirt (still crossing fingers for them at Roskilde '08 - just like the last 7 years :/ ). I'll try to be there at 5 pm, but I have absolutely zero experience with the Hamburg S-Bahn so that's going to be fun.

5 pm it is then. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn are usually quite reliable.

I'm no dirtymeet expert, either (one incident so far), but I'm confident we'll get this going. Let's all just extend our UW antennae and feeeeel each other...

I have a flight landing late afternoon in Hamburg, then have to check-in a hotel... don't know yet if i can meet you @ 5pm at this Scheune bar, but PM or better email me one of your cell numbers (check my profile for address), we'll trace each other via sms... (very usual in my dirtymeet experience...). Maybe see you tomorrow somehow
