Re: "I Exhale" - first single from Shining Future
I really like the longer version, but I'm trying real hard not to over-listen to it before the album's release so that I don't grow sick of it by the time March rolls around (I kind-of spoilt my enjoyment of Crocodile and TMO by doing that).
It really sticks in my head when I do listen to it though, and I end up thinking about it an awful lot. Absolutely primed for the album now. |

I love it when Karl's lyrics become disassociative. It's what drew me to them. Just various ramblings in harmony that somehow make sense once Rick becomes involved. It's what makes these guys so amazing. I'm looking forward to the hearing this new LP. It's definitely a step in a nice direction. For me that is.

Koze mix on Youtube:
Not quite the usual 'throw everything except the vocals away' disaster, but I got irritated by the out of tune bitspeek effect by about halfway through, and found it a real struggle to sit through the whole 4 and a half minutes.

It may take a few listens to get into the Koze Remix. The hip-hop vibe is good. I really like that you can understand Karl's lyrics better than the original. My vote is for the original since this remix loses the bass guitar which makes the track.
