Re: TOP 5 DJ'S TODAY ( opinions will vary )
What is weird about Magda?
Seriously? She mixes excellent minimal sounds with a driving bass and goes way further than a lot of DJs in exploring different sounds - in one of the mixes I have of hers she mixes in an Angolan tribal chant... beautifully. Also, she is a cool chick in a male dominated world and she is up there doing it right. She may not be in the mainstream for the time being, but watch this space... she is touring on her own now, not as an attachment to Hawtin and Villalobos, and I bet in a few months from now, more and more of you will be giving her the props she deserves. Honestly! You lot!

Re: TOP 5 DJ'S TODAY ( opinions will vary )
i was trying to make a point...
geeez... she is a bit minimalist and obscure in the world of Big Name DJ's...obviously my point has been lost on you lot... you should like what you like...don't bloody dig at people who like something that you don't...Tiesto and Magda...worlds apart, and liked by different people...so what...Janie likes Madga, other people like Tiesto... does it matter???? my give up

Re: TOP 5 DJ'S TODAY ( opinions will vary )
exactly...someone here thinks evil nine is boring...but that isnt gonna change my admiration for them.
trance heads will like tiesto....techno-ists will like carl cox...housers will like ?sneak? . 'breaks' has taken a beating for a while...its always stayed ' underground ' ... never gotten the publicity that other genres has. thats bloody fine by me. its evolved over the years...gotten way more of a groove then its early days ( booty ) . trance has its uplifting airy synth moments...house has its 4/4 beats and funky basslines...breaks has now gotten alot more phat ( rolling basslines...thank god for subwoofers ). to each their own. |
