Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
WTF!?!?!?
I live on a tropical island. I have the ocean, which includes swimming, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and scuba diving. I have jungles and waterfalls, Japanese culture, and any number of beautiful Asian women to hit on and get turned down by... AND I'M STRESSING OUT BECAUSE I HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
Agree with Aaron. This movie was the bee's knees.
LISTEN UP, WORLD! AMERICA HAS CONTRIBUTED TO SOCIETY WITH THIS FILM. Campy, way over the top, there was even a public service announcement thrown in there. Go see this. See it with the rowdiest crowd possile (I was at the showing next to the official premiere and the people were insane -- even came dressed up and had signs and props -- we were being recorded for TV purposes, also...weird). Enjoy what Sam Jackson has given us. from movies.com http://movies.go.com/movies/review?n...0Line%20Cinema OUR REVIEW by Dave White Who's in It: Samuel L. Jackson, Julianna Margulies, Kenan Thompson, Bobby Cannavale, snakes The Basics: Do I even need to write this part? Because if I do, then you're my mom. So, hi, Mom. This movie's about snakes on a plane. What's the Deal? It's the dumbest, awesomest movie ever, and I loved every minute of it. Seriously, do you want an actual review where I pull it apart and talk about what a disappointment it was and how it wasn't frightening or well-acted or written or whatever, and how it didn't live up to the unreasonable hype? Do you honestly believe that any of that stuff matters here? No, you don't. And now I'm going to spend the rest of this review reviewing the sold-out crowd of dumb, awesome people from last night's 10:15 p.m. screening at the Mann Chinese 6 Theatre in Hollywood … Best Audience Costume: The three people who seemed to be aiming for a trio of identical Sam Jacksons from Pulp Fiction. No, I don't know why. Audience's Most-Cheered Lines After the One You Already Know That Sam Jackson Shouts, the One that Contains Double Usage of Everyone's Favorite 12-Letter Bad Swear Word: 1. "Why, exactly, are there snakes on this plane?" 2. "There's only one guy who could arrange this many illegal snakes!" Audience's Favorite Thing to Do Anytime There Was No Dialogue or Screaming: Hiss in unison. This was a surprisingly effective and not-very-annoying form of audience participation, really. I liked it way more than I've ever enjoyed those amateur comedian jerks who shout things out, thinking they're funny when they never are. What We All Want: A sequel with more snakes, please. Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
dont even fucking QUALIFY that shit.
this ain't no "best dumb movie ever", this is, point plank, the best movie of the year. it was a tribute to all of it's predecessors without pointing out how smart its own tribute is, it was fucking hilarious, fucking intense, sometimes completly disgusting, but 5000% amazing. i'm willing to bet the "acting" was completly as intentioned and that the people behinnd the making of this film are fucking brilliant beyond appreciation. it's parody without the wink, without the acid, but with full on participation in all of its cliches and improbabilities, which were fucking ridiculous by the way. goddamn did that movie deliver. it was better than anyone could have hoped for. i thought it was going to be pretty good, but it would up to us to elevate it. it did the impossible and fucking surpassed the hype it was given i am NOT joking, this movie was the shit. |
