Boards Of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
So, as there's been some time to listen to this record since its release: what do you think of it?
I finally have the correct release and I can say I enjoy it. The track that REALLY stands out for now is Peacock Tail, it's GORGIOUS! Can't yet understand what people really like about Chromakey Dreamcoat. It's not bad, but doesn't grab me yet. Though, the whole album is a grower for me, so it might come. I like the fact that this is a bit softer and chillier, and indeed a bit more "groovy" than Geogaddi. Geogaddi is good, but I haven't been listening to it as much as I did to Music Has The Right To Children, because you just have to be in the right mood for Geogaddi. I hope that in the future I can "figure out" the weird beats like I could with "Telephasic Workshop" and "Turqoise Hexagon Sun". Complex rhythms on which you have to concentrate to hear how it goes. Anyway, what are your thoughts? |

Re: Boards Of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
Its a nice album. Thats about as much as I can really say. Its entirely unremarkable in every way. Instantly forgettable but also harmless. I don't think i'll be buying it or even indeed bothering to listen to it again. I don't think i've had less to say about any major long awaited electronic album for a long time. Oh well.
