Re: The Chemical Brothers - Further
This excites me more than the pre-release hype for the last two albums. Whilst Escape Velocity does seem overlong on it's own I guess it will fit well in the whole context of the album. Which leads me to also believe this will be an album rather than a collection of songs like We Are The Night and Push The Button.

SURRENDER! I'm still looking for a wall print of the album cover if anyone has one to give up! Can't believe it's almost 11 years back. Timeless! One of my top 3 albums of all time. Superb flow. "Don't run!"

I don't have a wall-print of the Surrender cover, but I do have a lithograph of it! It's pretty awesome; I still need to find a good frame for it though.

I'm surprised the new album doesn't have any collaborations. But since I love the EBW's (wish they were still making them...) this sounds like it will be right up my alley.

I remember hearing it for the first time in the late 90's and thinking it was a major disappointment from Dig Your Own Hole. But over the years, I don't know what happened, but I suddenly "got it" and really fell in love with it. One of my favorite tracks happens to be Orange Wedge, which seems to be overlooked by too many people. And "Dream On" is one of the best closers I've ever heard.

Speaking of which, I just heard that track in a trailer for some Robert Pattinson movie...yuck. Definitely doesn't do the song justice.

I'm surprised by the hatred you guys have toward We Are the Night. I think it's a great album; definitely better than Push the Button. The opening track is a killer.
I didn't care much at all for "We Are the Night" or "Push the Button" although there were a couple songs in each that were pretty nice.

"Surrender" is my favorite album; loved it from the start. I do have a poster of the album framed in my bedroom, given to me (free of charge!) when a local record store took the promo poster down.

mmm I'm jealous of your Surrender poster. I think my girlfriend would kill me if I got anymore Chemical Brothers memorabilia.

10 minute studio version of Escape Velocity (listen in "1080P" mode):

dying over here to hear this album front to back, and back to front, etc.
would be epic to see those concerts where all the videos are being shown.
