Re: NEW ALBUM: Someday World (hyde+eno)
hmm, indeed!
The 30 seconds or so of preview were in the same vein as the first promo track - jittery beats and 80's synths, with Karl's clean vocals atop. Maybe i'll grow to like to whole track, but in a quick burst, it wasn't super exciting... EDIT: listened to the 3:26 track at the link provided above. Same feelings that this was a rushed partnership, where the snippets of songs were expanded beyond their strength. It just sounds dated, sorry!

Re: NEW ALBUM: Someday World (hyde+eno)
There is a 750 copy limited edition version of the vinyl coming out. The limited part is an exclusive art print included (I don't think it's signed or anything). Apparently this edition is only available through indie record stores in the UK and EU.
You can find it by Googling for the catalog number: WARPLP249X For example, here are some retailers: http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/81573 http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/pro...arp-95909.html http://www.normanrecords.com/records...someday-world- http://www.recordstore.co.uk/records...nt/3A840000000 |

From the NPR article:
[clip] That collaborative spirit continues with Someday World — recorded with former Underworld member/vocalist Karl Hyde — which includes 12 other players, including Roxy Music's own Andy Mackay. [clip] |

Re: NEW ALBUM: Someday World (hyde+eno)
The version i see reads thusly:
"That collaborative spirit continues with Someday World — recorded with Underworld member/vocalist Karl Hyde — which includes 12 other players, including Roxy Music's own Andy Mackay. For many U.S. listeners, Underworld remains a one-hit wonder, responsible for the raging techno of "Born Slippy" from the Trainspotting soundtrack." Last edited by crank; 04-28-2014 at 11:18 AM. |
