Om Records have been kind enough to communicate some of their plans for the US release of Barking (they don't have Canada distribution rights, sorry).

First of all, the US will be receiving the same physical products as the UK (Regular, Deluxe, Limited, Vinyl), as you can tell from the preorders on Amazon.com, of course. The Deluxe edition will be exclusive to a retailer (TBD). I don't know if this affects online availability also (for example, Amazon is still selling it). Distribution of the Limited Edition version to retail stores will probably be extremely limited and only to some independent music stores, like Newbury Comics and Amoeba Music.

Om Records will have their own online store operational soon, and they will be selling exclusive pre-order bundles through there, "like T-shirts, vinyl, digital and physical together." I don't have any more details about that, at the moment.

The same iTunes LP pre-order that is on the iTunes UK store will soon be available on the iTunes US store also, hopefully within the next week or two. Keep an eye on Tuesdays, as that is new music release day in the US.

The iTunes pre-order versions will be available in both the Deluxe iTunes LP edition (with videos) and the regular version. Both iTunes versions include the exclusive bonus track "You Do Scribble (Abbey Road Version)".

When you pre-order on iTunes, you'll be able to download "Grace" immediately. ("Grace" is not supposed to be available for individual purchase like it is on the UK store; it's only supposed to be available for download for those who pre-order the album; I can only imagine the UK will be corrected soon, and that the US will be released correctly).

That's all I have for now. I'll pass on any more information as I get it.

To get the 'Grace' pre-order sugar treat that lucky UK fans get/got, I'd have to wait to see if they offer a similar option in the US store, buy the album in AAC digital-only format (with no extra bonus "disc"), and then "the music's loud, the music's TOO LOUD..." anyway.

Going with the "official" store sounds like Russian Roulette and hearing the kinds of issues they are having, very unprofessional and rookie mistakes (special characters should have been tested over and over again for all of DigitalAnimal's prior artists.....so is this their first band they've taken orders for, or is there just no QA Dept, etc?). "Is the bonus disc alone really worth 40 extra dollars" keeps bouncing around in my brain too, cause signed art and defunct DVD format doesn't do much for me.

OM Records will be selling (better?) bundles of the album directly but who the hell wants a tote bag or UW breakfast cereal.....reserving final judgement now until more details surfaces.

The Grace for UK fans was a mistake (made by Apple i believe) and should have only been for the people pre-ordering the deluxe via iTunes.

I see your point about the official UWlive shop. However, I'm happy to see Digital Animal now replying to people in person, and also registered on this forum and solving problems. I feel confident that my order will arrive without problems.

This is upto you. I have thought about it long and hard. Its not available in 1080p/Bluray which is a shame, because the videos on youtube seem to be (official? not sure). If the source is 1080p it would be great for us to get 1080p. However, Bluray isnt as widespread as DVD so we'll have to settle for that. No choice. The bonus demo disc and the extra videos are worth it if you want them. Its definitely a collectors thing. 32 page book too.

Grace aside, seems like its a win/win no matter where you order from. Going with the belief that my order was properly received from UWlive (which I believe it is) I think I'm all set.
