Re: why owb is probably the best
I thought the tracklisting was a joke too! Ahhh but it's just track names isn't it? I think the album IS one of the worst, but only by virtue of being from a band that's put out so many great albums in their career. Obviously it's a bit worrisome when you think of it in this way, like they've lost it, but seriously there have been so many ace tracks over the last 5 years, not even half of which made the album.

Re: why owb is probably the best
it's the sound of a band making the album they wanted to make... it doesn't sound like any of their other albums and i appreciate that. as much as i love 'dubnobass' or 'second toughest' or 'beaucoup fish' i don't want to hear another album like those... and i didn't get that... i'm enjoying this album the more i listen to it and enjoying the fact that it's not obvious underworld at times!
like it or not UW challenged us with this album. and good for them. |

since there's enough other material coming out to supplement it with.. i've never known a band that constantly produced material that i've liked 100% (kraftwerk comes pretty close though).. i've enjoyed the riverrun material more, so i'm sticking with listening to that.. -1 |

i listened to the first riverrun today again and apart from wishing i had in a lossless format i enjoyed it. it's just refreshing for me to see a band releasing exactly what they want... especially in these times, where record label executives (read accountants) are known to visit studios with their bands recording and 'offer them advise' on what they should be doing! (i'm one of those 'music, it's art godammit' people!) Last edited by taoyoyo; 11-27-2007 at 01:59 AM. |

Because of that, I love ADHO too. I'd love to hear another Twist, another Little Speaker. Another single like Ansum too. But maybe I can only wait for something similar ![]()

Fantastic! ![]() My 'Insides' is your 'Middle of Nowhere'! ![]() Maybe I need to dig that out again... I thought 'Style' was a fantastic single and I loved all the mixes. The 'John Craven's Newsround' track made me chuckle but I can't remember liking too much else off that album. It felt very digital to me after the warmth of 'In Sides'. It just goes to show what a great thing individuality is and how one's perception (or taste) can be completely different, even when honed down to 'you like Orbital, I like Orbital' levels. I would like to know why 'MON' does it for you... not in any snarkey way... I'm genuinely interested. ![]() |
