Re: British Bands
my two penn'orth :
bloc party's record is great. not a duff song on it, and So Here We Are is just gorgeous. not too fussed either way about maximo park i really like editors before i heard their album, which is a bit of a let down. the singles are pretty good, (especially munich) but there's little else of note on the entire album. kaiser chiefs were alright for about 10 minutes at the end of 2004. they have since got more and more boring franz ferdinand never really did it for me arctic monkeys' first single was ace. dancefloor is ok. the hype'll crush 'em. there's no way their debut album can live up to the expectations that have been built up around them. plus it's only a matter of time before the NME backlash - oh!, the fickle old NME. nine black alps have some fantastic songs, but the album was a bit of a letdown. bon jovi are the best british band evar. i quite like what i've heard of morning runner so far, but it hasn't been very much so the jury's still out. doves album was pretty mediocre as far as i remember though i've not listened in a while. elbow record is still growing on me. there's some fantastic songs in the first half of the record, as well as a couple of dull ones, and the second half keeps on revealing little gems the more i listen. ace. + Forget Myself is a fantastic single.
