Well there isn't really a similarity. It's just one sound that they used and put it in Around The World in a different way. |

Re: Daft Punk Source Material
i have a lot of the source material for the orb...and i mean a lot.
check out the following entire albums for being pillaged by the orb: the mikey dread show - african anthem (the orb's first 3 albums) tape beatles - music with sound (outlands / majestic / most of live 93) steve reich - electric counterpoint (little fluffy clouds / oobe) king tubby & soul syndicate - freedom sounds in dub (oobe) and basically a lot of bbc sound effects cds. i used to have a very large word doc with all their sample sourses in it but i seem to have misplaced it.... the daft punk stuff is ridiculously blatant though, but whatever.

Re: Daft Punk Source Material
the only one i can really blame them for is robot rock and crescendolls.
the rest is mostly in the liner notes, and i heard what they jacked, but how did daft punk put the thrill in when it wasnt there before? oh right context and re-use towards something better. harder, better, faster, stronger INDEED. |
