actually, I had this movie as the best of 2005, just beating out "The Constant Gardener"

Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
time to bump this thread up...

excellent cover and article in this month's Total Film - plus neat little 'SOAP' poster...

"What else do you need to know? How the snakes got on the plane? What the snakes do once they're on the plane? Who put the snakes on the plane? Who is trying to get the snakes off the plane? This is not for you to ponder. There are snakes on a plane. End of Fucking Story." - Josh Friedman, Screenwriter.

Times to start SNAKES ON A PLANE countdown...

UK release: 18th August 2006

Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
The hype on this has gotten ridiculous, so much so that the hype is now the main story, overshadowing the fact that there are actual snakes on an actual plane.

I just made a bet (I think an easy one) that this movie will be number one in the box office opening weekend. August 18th, same as the UK.

Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
I've been quietly listening and watching as this film has morphed and matasticized into a gluttoness expanse of nothingness based on hype and purely that.

I gotta throw my opinion on the table and say I don't really give a shit and will see it, but don't see what all the monkey clapping is about.

When I heard about the premise many months ago, I kind of smirked. It seemed like a bad film that would be enjoyable with the increase of my Blood Alcohol level.

It seems that they've, the filmmakers along with it's finaciners, have bought into their own hype supperceeding their original intention of attempting to make just simply a b film horror film, and have now transcended/crossed that line into just being a BAD film, that I was always expecting it to be, nothing more, nothing less.

Re: Snakes On A Plane / Best Film of 2006
muthafuckin snakes on a muthafuckin plane!

I'm getting sick of these damn snakes!

we gotta get off the plane! there are snakes on it!

Go Here and watch this!!!

it's gonna suck... august 19th will be a sad day at the water cooler... but you know, it's fun to have everybody so excited about something so ridiculous right now... I'm enjoying the good vibes immensely, even if pretty much everyone thinks it's gonna suck. the trailers look SO BAD... all those really poor CG snakes... just horrible... but you know... a friend of mine was talking the other day about this... it seems we don't really get theatrical exploitation-esque movies anymore. All the horror stuff is like remakes and sequels with WB stars... remember the 90s when we had stuff like Man's Best Friends, Ghost in the Machine, Wes Craven's Shocker... all horrible movies but also kinda fun. The way I see it, Snakes is sort of like that... and to tell you the truth I'd rather have a sucky Snakes on a muthafuckin PLANE than When a Stranger Calls.

...it's still gonna suck though. but it's SNAKES. on a PLANE. that's it!
