this track goes nowhere. I spent a decent chunk of money and time tracking it down. Its hardly epic in comparison to Juanita, or the likes.

Re: Where are the epic tracks?
ancient phat farm coat ain't epic? i haven't heard the 20min version, but the riverrun version is epic enough, the way it sounds, the piano and the percussion. i love it.

Hey Strawman; make sure you check out "Thing in a Book" if you don't have it yet. It's kind of an obscurity as it wasn't a single and wasn't on an album but it's grade-A UW material that I think only really didn't get on an LP because it was way too long. As for the newer tracks I guess I do agree somewhat, but "Between Stars" to me is one of their most epic tracks ever even if it is not very long....

Re: Where are the epic tracks?
yea... "Thing in a Book" rocks

I also love the fact that they played it once live. Like - sure, if I was actually there at the time - I probably would've been ticked (like "what the hell, when is this track going to change")

it's kinda ballsy

While visiting the Museum of Optical Illusions in Edinburgh last weekend, I could swear I heard TIAB being played in one of the rooms. Pretty cool

"Second Hand" is an edited version of "Thing in a Book" -> you could only get it off of the first "Cafe del Mar" compilation (although - that's a link to the vinyl version - I've got it as a cd)

Manloop is kinda like a "live in studio" version of "Second Hand" - which you used to be able to get off of Underworldlive.com - I haven't listened to it in aaaaaggggeeeessss... but I think it almost sounds identical to "Second Hand" but there are some Karl mumble lyrics towards the end...

they played "Thing in a Book" way back in... 1994

....and what's this about a museum of optical illusions????

I'm probably going to Edinburgh next week....
