Finally got around to see this film earlier tonight.
A really wonderful, amusing, and at times painful film. Upon seeing the trailers for the film and learning more about the film I had this growing fear that the film would be very similar in style both in it's filmmaking techniques, but it's writing, to Wes Anderson's work and The Life Aquatic. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this wasn't the case at all. Though there are significant touches throughout the film and it's story both in style and execution to Mr. Anderson's work, I never felt it reached a point where it distracted me from the viewing experience of the film. |
