also, be sure that you've upgraded to the latest version of quicktime too. i think that might be part of the problem.

same sample as in the beginning of Luetin from Peel Session.
It's also at the beginning of Pizza for Eggs. Well not the exact sample, but some of that part from the peel session is in PFE.

This is a brilliant masterpiece of beautiful, hypnotic, ambient bliss. Bravo! I think this release just blew away the past 3 Orb albums. The transition from "Showlder" to "Wedge" is almost too much. IMHO "Wedge" is definitely the winner here, although "Peach Tree" is a close second. The soundscapes are fantastic. Awesome mixing on this release! "Big Sister" definitely my fav of the three. This release and the recent Radio broadcast have been wonderful. Many thanks to Underworld. Absolutely superb.

no you're not. you're having fun.

anyway, i'm surprised that no one pointed out (or is it SO obvious that it needs no mention) the Ansum recycling running throughout the second half...

Re: "I'm a Big Sister..." thread.
no one's mentioned that?

I just never bothered to post about it, b/c I figured someone else had noticed it before me... but it's really not too much of the track that's reused, just that one bit of synth

but it did make me wonder if all these RR tracks were - 100% new recordings, or if some were finished outtakes from previous LP's, or if like - they were sortof half songs from a while ago, then refurbished and tweaked into a final version, you know?

Re: "I'm a Big Sister..." thread.
for a bit of fun, check out the bit from one of the previous radioshows where they played one second bits of new material at the end. There's quite a few Riverrun tracks in there

I totally agree with this sentiment - the first track is simply what u/w do best ie conjour up a soundscape which expresses a feeling of utter terror within a landscape of sublime beauty (I once felt that, for real, while walking along a footpath in order to visit a ruined abbey near Shrewsbury, UK, and that track sums up that emtion perfectly). The closing spoken piece "I'm a big sister...these are the rails, and these are the weeds, that live in the cracks, at the back of the world" are just so beautiful and profound, spoken by a Mike Skinner-ish guy with a hint of sadness/regret in his voice, it almost brings me to tears.

Thank you Rick and Karl, yet again, for some truly superlative music xx
