Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
The recordings are for internal use, I would think, and just a reference.
They are not necessarily intended for a release. Yes, they may be used in projects in the future, but it's up to them. later -1 |

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Unless, they're planning another Everything; Everything style live release, which was a 'compilation' of tracks and shots from a variety of concerts on the tour. It would go some way to explaining the lack of improvisation and regular set list recently...

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Except the EE tour wasn't a static setlist and they've been playing a series of 4 or 5 static setlist tours since 2010. I think that's just how they play now. It's harder to cover 16+ songs in 2 hours if you are improving them. Hopefully there are more opening set/side stage improv sets to come, though, perhaps even that include Karl.

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Disappointing as it is, I'm going to have to concede this one - not least because the photo of the rider shows that it was not filmed for release/broadcast.
They would also have to have consent from people to be filmed - when Iron Maiden did a webcast of their Brixton gig in 2003 the signs around the venue said that it would be filmed "and if you go in, you agree that your image may be used" etc. Similarly, the Bloodhound Gang had to pull a live DVD filmed in 2000 because they didn't have permissions - they tried to retrospectively track down everyone who appeared on stage with them, to get consent, but it never happened. At least we know it does exist, in the archives, so maybe one day it will surface. |

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Just FYI, most of the Surreal Carnival merchandise that went up on the shop today are in short supply, so if you want something, you should order now. Most of the items have only 10-50 pieces each available. The only item available in quantity (200+) is the pink poster.

Dancers on stage are part of frantic assembly, the crew that will be putting Karl's fatherland production. Https://twitter.com/MIFestival/statu...76993357893632

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Ok I'm just psyched (at this point) to hear that the UW setlist was slightly different, and precluded by a more freeform Rick set with some UW rarities.

Agreed! I really wish they'd take this concept on tour. Rick set mood for hour & 1/2 or so, then they blow us away for 2 hrs. I'd drop a dollar or two for that show State-side. ;] Please make it so! Red Rocks (at last) FTW? I'd love to hear Rick play 'Thing In A Book' between the monoliths to open please.

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace
Right?. Criminal I'd say. Karl obviously wanted to play more. :[ Happy I got to hear 'Barbara. Barbara' tracks as I'd not heard those live, but if their set had been exact as Mexico City I'd (possibly/hopefully) heard 'Kittens' (a bucket list track for me) & 'Scribble' (also never heard before) + 'Moaner.' UW for 1 hr is just not enough. :[ All I can hope for is a US leg of a tour w/ this Carnival concept. I like it a lot - would love to hear Rick set a proper mood for a true UW experience. Red Rocks and/or Atlanta would be great.
