Video game journalism
There are few things which are able to piss me off more.
1up.com can be the worst. They put out terrible features and love to copycat IGN. http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3167284 This article is perhaps the most arbitrary, uninspired, piece of crap I have ever read. |

Re: Video game journalism
Well, I was all set to disagree with you; the title of the article seemed clever and interesting to me but ou are right. That article was terrible. It was awkwardly laid out, erroneous at times, and flat out stupid.

Re: Video game journalism
1up isn't so great at the actual "journalism" part of "videogame journalism," but they do know how to entertain with loads of features, the 1up show, and Broken Pixels.
IGN has a bunch of boring individuals that actually do a lot of research. I visit IGN more often. Gamespot used to be pretty good, too... it's too bad it rotted out from within. If you don't know about the Gamespot controversy with Jeff Gerstmann, you should definitely check it out |

Re: Video game journalism
It sounded kind of like Zero Punctuation meets Pitchfork Media, without being as good as either of those. I also thought the list was shite. Missing out on some Kid Chameleon classics. The standard vertical scrolling 2D shooter blue laser powerup. And the occasional bogus shit youd get hit with in any ghosts and goblins game.
