Re: Fitting Riverrun on one cd
Hi.
Considering the nature of the Riverruns (in that they are heavily segued), why not mix the three. If they currently run at 84 mins, then you would have to overlay the end of LBT and the beginning of P4E by 2 mins, and the same for the end of P4E and the beginning of the other one to fit it all on a 80 min disc. Then the whole disc would flow through to the end as one piece going from hard to floaty.

Just a thought. Haven't tried it. Yet.

Yeah, this is a good idea...i'm not sure how well the tunes would mix, especially overlain that long, but it's definitely worth a try...

I too like this idea. Perhaps mixing the end of P4E and the beginning of Big Sister would be easier and sound better. Mixing Witness and Food a Ready might not do either song justice. Not knocking the first track of Big Sister, but I think mixing that with the end of P4E would flow much better.
Edit: Yeah, that didn't work as well as it did in my head. Plus my mixing skills are primitive, so that didn't help. I tried.

Yeah, i stuck 'em together last night...LBT->P4E->IABS... i had to cut the end of 11 Hundred Hz (the distorted part) to get it under 80 minutes.
"Witness" merged with "Food A Ready" doesn't sound great because the keys are different. But crossfading them helped make it less jarring. The transition from "Play Pig" into "Peach Tree" sounds cool, though.

i plan to force this on some friends as an introduction to the experimental side of UW.

Interesting since these are rr03, 04 and 05...wonder if they're supposed to be mixed as such (from loud to soft in style)? I also noted when making some artwork for my compilation that the coverart provided with the coded text goes from black (LBT) to dark grey (P4E) to grey (IABS). Neat from a graphic standpoint (i wonder if misterons mix will be light grey? )
