Re: Megasharing - yousendit / rapidshare etc tips
zShare seems to be about the most user-friendly I have come across too. No waiting, no queueing, no running out of "chances" to dwl. Just very practical and straight-forward.

Re: Megasharing - yousendit / rapidshare etc tips
ok, most of these are firewalled at work,

and the ones that do work, are getting errors
when i try to upload...eg : http://tv.isg.si/site/

my files are slightly bigger than 100meg..

any thoughts?

looks like this one is the winner : http://www.future-dld.com/main.php
fast uploads, no blocking, 1gig size limit..

Re: Megasharing - yousendit / rapidshare etc tips
This is the old post in the sticky at the top:

I'm sick of the limitations of some of these damn things. Rapidshare is 1file per hour, megaupload makes you wait 45secs to download, yousendit files disappear in 7 days. Anyway, I've found the following which I think the guys in craft forum will find handy:

1GB+: (in usefulness order)

MegaShares
File Size Limit: 1.5GB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 25 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 25 days) / URL: http://www.megashares.com
EDIT: first upload got corrupted. it has two windows, one where its uploading and a little pop up that gives you a progress bar.

SendSpace
File Size Limit: 1.2GB / Download Limit: download bandwidth limit of 100GB
File Life: 14 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 14 days) / URL: http://www.sendspace.com
EDIT: used this and it does exactly what it says on the tin!

SendOver
File Size Limit: 2GB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 7 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 7 days) / URL: http://www.sendover.com
EDIT: this was actually broken when i tried the link

YouSendIt
File Size Limit: 1GB / Download Limit: 25 Downloads
File Life: 7 Days / URL: http://www.yousendit.com
EDIT: yeah we know about this, its good but 7 days is crap for DJ mixes and 25 downloads? gimme a break.

30 Day sites: (in order of size)

Uploading
File Size Limit: 500MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 30 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 30 days) / URL: http://www.uploading.com
EDIT: this is actually 300mb, not 500mb. looks ok tho, email notifications and description.

zUpload
File Size Limit: 500MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 30 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 30 days) / URL: http://www.zupload.com
EDIT: this has recipients email notification but not one for you, but it works!

mooload
File Size Limit: 500MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 30 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 30 days) / URL: http://www.mooload.com
EDIT: no email notification for either you or the recipient but it seems to work.

Bigupload
File Size Limit: 300MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 30 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 30 days) / URL: http://www.bigupload.com
EDIT: this one says files upto 2000mb in one place and upto 200mb in another so im not sure. However, its 30days as advertised.
If its 2GB, it could be good as it also includes email notifications and a description.

RapidUpload
File Size Limit: 300MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: 30 Days (Deleted only if there is no download activity in 30 days) / URL: http://www.rapidupload.com
EDIT: only email notification for the recipient not for you but other than that, as advertised.

Unlimited time sites: (listed by size)

UpDownloadServer
File Size Limit: 250MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: Unlimited / URL: http://www.updownloadserver.de
EDIT: yes, 250mb as it says but no email notifications (and an annoying popup that my popup killer didnt get)

BIGfileupload
File Size Limit: 100MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: Unlimited / URL: http://bigfileupload.com
EDIT: yes, 100mb as it says but no email notifications.

Content-Type
File Size Limit: 100MB / Download Limit: Unlimited
File Life: Unlimited / URL: URL: http://www.content-type.com
EDIT: nice drag n drop feature. can upload 5x100mb at a time. no email notifications though.
EDIT2: seems you have to pay for the unlimited file life. otherwise its 7 days. bummer. one to avoid then. it did work tho

Please let me know what the drawbacks are of these things, such as the timer and the amount per day etc. So far, it looks like MegaShares is the best for size, Uploading/mooload/zupload for last download+30day sharing and UpDownloadServer for unlimited time limit. There are loads more out there but these appear to be the ones to use. I'll make this a sticky if need be.

Re: Don't use Rapidshare - use Sharebee / Uploadjockey
Well the news after all this time is that Sharebee and Uploadjockey are still good. Please avoid Rapidshare as its getting worse and worse. Megaupload is passable, and Mediafire is pretty damn good

Any more tips?

Re: Don't use Rapidshare - use Sharebee / Multiupload
Neembuu Uploader Simultaneously Uploads Files to Up to 25 Filehosts

Windows/Mac/Linux: If you're tired of your browser crashing and killing your 2GB upload, you may want to consider Neembuu Uploader, which features automatic download URL generation, (and deletion URLs if the filehost supports it) login support for filehosts where you have accounts, upload histories, and the ability to drag and drop files from anywhere onto the Neembu window to begin uploading.
Neembuu is also a portable app that can run from a USB drive that on any OS that includes Java. It's a handy tool if you need to share files across multiple hosts, and is worth using to avoid browser crashes killing your upload even if you never upload to multiple hosts simultaneously.
Neembuu uploads to 25 filehosts including ImageShack, MegaUpload, and RapidShare; the full list can be found at the link below. The only three hosts that require an account are Dropbox, EnterUpload, and RapidShare—everything else can be used without an account. Neembuu is also open source and freeware. These advantages along with the ability to be used on nearly any OS place Neembuu above other upload clients we've featured in the past.
Neembuu is a free download from SourceForge
