Re: If Rah
It makes sense that electronic music, so often inspiring dance, or thrown into the EDM category, should feature dancers in videos. I like the freeform nature of the routine, much like an uptempo version of the Chemical Brothers' recent "Wide Open" vid. Yet that had a concept...the dancer turning to mesh. Here, it's just a nicely synchronized routine. I guess I like a little variety (see modern dancers in UW's "Moon in Water"... Great quick cuts of multiple dancers, in studio and nature, group and individual routines). This and the vid for " I Exhale" are one note ideas.
BTW, I do like most of the Barking vids. Less crazy about those from OWB. Yeah, they don't make em like Shoewear Repairs anymore!

Re: If Rah
I dunno... I've liked a fair number of videos since 'Footwear Repairs' (Push, KOS, TMO, most of the ones off of Barking... oh, and I did like the one for "Ring Road")
but this... just seemed uninspired. Like, I feel like I've seen it before - even down to the costuming. However, I really do like this radio edit... it's probably the first time I've ever preferred an edit over the album version... |

Re: If Rah
For me: Ring Road, with that chord building up to the last chorus. KOS Barking Mix. And strangely, Pearl's Girl, which I find works better as a 'song' rather than a long sprawling piece with vocal passages.

Re: If Rah
The digital promo for If Rah just arrived along with a Matthew Herbert Lunar Dub and the radio edit.
The Herbert dub is interesting, a long slow build, quirky, but better for listening than for the dancefloor I suspect. Oh, and an instrumental too. Almost forgot. Time to invert an isolate the vocals...
