Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
It just occured to me that I'm not as excited as I want to be over this album. It happened while listening to You Do Scribble during a late-night work session. That track has all the signature UW that I think in time, I'll miss when listening to Scribble. Scribble is a good track, but its hard to not hear how polished it is.
Obviously I haven't heard the album yet, but that doesn't change that I'm not as excited for this as I thought I would be. I wanna be really excited! Oh, and the fact that PvD, while technically proficient, is total cheese doesn't help me one bit. Reading that the tracks were sent to these producers makes me think that they'll just stick their sounds into the track because well, they want to. |

Whose got the 5 minutes rough cut of Moon In Water? This will be interesting in terms of development, no idea what stage this was in when it was broadcast.

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
Everyone is making waaaayyyy too big a deal about "guest producers." Most bands work with a producer on a specific album. I mean what's the differenceif Steve Hall produced the album? Does that mean it's not an Underworld album? Just because Rick has self-produced the last few albums... The release does not say the songs are co-written. Unlike Downpipe which has artist listed as "underworld vs..."
Also find it funny to see the reviews of Scribble on iTunes. I wonder how much the general public (i.e. Non-dirts) will credit the guest producers for the final songs. While the dirts have the knowledge of having heard the progression of the songs for a while. Oh by the way, I heard the extra track on the Japanese version is Five Points with oakenfold as the guest producer.
