Re: The Chemical Brothers - Further
US tour, if you can call it that. Only 4 dates: LA, San Fran, Chicago & NY. It sucks that they don't play more shows here, like Seattle, Philly, Boston, Miami. They haven't played live here in Florida since '99. So, I'm packing my bags and flying to Chicago for the Sept. 3 show.
Enjoying the album a lot. Definitely think Swoon is the worst track of the bunch. Nice review. |

Re: The Chemical Brothers - Further
I've been playing "Further" at least once a day for the past month, and even more frequently a few weeks back. I think it's now my 3rd favorite Chemical Brothers records, behind "Dig Your Own Hole" and "Exit Planet Dust", just ahead of "Come with Us" and "Surrender". Miles ahead of the past two records.

Re: The Chemical Brothers - Further
Actually, I'm a huge fan of Orbital and obviously here the similarities with Lush, but I think Lush is a much better track. Swoon sounds a little too 'Les Rhythm Digitales' to me. The lead synth in Swoon is constant and drives me in to a cold sweat, like when I'm in a dentist's chair getting a cavity filled with that drill noise penetrating my head. So yeah, I don't like that so much.

Re: The Chemical Brothers - Further
Finally decided the buy the iTunes pass today...I had been listening to it via my Zune subscription for awhile. Very glad I bought it. Today's posts certainly did the trick.
I remember they did a tour to support Come With Us in 2002, and they actually came to Phoenix along with Sasha and Digweed's Delta Heavy tour as a double bill. Jason |
