how come... (Depeche Mode question)
So, why is it that there are soooooooooo many fan-made / bootleg mixes of Depeche Mode tracks

...and they're all so shitty. I mean, seriously - in the 10-15 years I've been a fan of theirs, I have yet to hear ONE fan-made remix that's actually well made.

Is that like a challenge?

well - that wasn't my original intention... but sure.

I mean, it's like - there are even multiple-volumes of bootleg mix collections, like that "Strike" series, "excited mixes" ...and on and on

and even websites devoted to DM remixes, then after you've wasted your time downloading a track, it always prompty goes straight to the trash

Re: how come... (Depeche Mode question)
Damn....thanks Patrick!

Are there any a cappella versions of their songs out there where anyone could grab some clean vocal tracks? I've been looking for stuff to work with lately, and this sounds fun. And incidentally, I only just burned my Underworld Riverrun vinyl singles to cd, and discovered that the Riverrun Version of Play Pig starts with the entire isolated vocal track, so I'll be starting a Play Pig mix very soon, too. I'm excited about that one.

Re: how come... (Depeche Mode question)
there was some sort of remix competition for Dream On & I Feel Loved

and I think you got either a complete - or close to complete acapella track for both songs, but I don't have them

other than that... I think you'd have to sort of search through the different remixes where the vocals are a bit more prominent

I inherited a bunch of those fan mix compilations from my last last roommates harddrive. I have to agree wholeheartedly, they all suck!
After listening to a few off each comp I gave up and trashed the lot of them.

it's been a long while since I've listened to the Quad Final mix... but I think the acapella part is the demo / harpsicord version w/ Martin Gore's vocals
