best TV show - HBO saved television
i would make this a poll, but i actually more want to hear other options than the ones that i have watched. HBO clearly is the savior to TV, and in my opinion (due to the series' that i have watched) is better than almost 99% of movies out there. you get way more time for true character development and when it is done well it's completely believable...

the ones i have watched fully are, and in my opinion the greatest TV shows in order are:

deadwood
six feet under
sopranos

and some of curb your enthusiasm

my other favorite shows are: arrested development, futurama and firefly, which all ironically have been by fox and all been cancelled by fox pre-maturaly because they realized they had actual good programming and needed to get back to the complete crap of fox.

now, i could easily not expect to find anything easily close to as good as deadwood (or the other two), however maybe people know of shows that are of equal quality?

My neighbor is giving me battlestar galactica as he claims that is amazing, I watched the first two seasons of 24, and ended up doing so i like 5 days each, cause it is addictive like heroin.

anyone got favorites along the same lines as i'm into?

(we should get a tv forum)

Good God man, watch Oz. An HBO original and as violent, well-scripted and controversial as you could hope for. All 6 seasons are out there now for your viewing pleasure.

They are working on A Song of Ice and Fire series based on the George R.R. Martin books. Could be nice if it is done right.

Sopranos is the best show ever.

Big Love was slow to build, but by the end of the first season I was hooked and can't wait for the new episodes.

Lucky Louie, Entourage, and Cathouse are other interesting shows on HBO. Since they're going to be hosting a few UFC fight cards this year HBO has become my favorite station! (Airing UFC is why Spike has "saved television" for me heh heh )
HBO's programs, specials and movies are mostly in stunning HD quality now too.

The Office is the second best show.

Battlestar Galactica is definitely recommended. It's actually quite dark and nothing like the original series.
Deadwood was awesome (still waiting for that finale!!)
I'd also highly recommend Carnivale even though it was cancelled after two seasons.

I watched one season of 24 and that was enough for me. I've never even seen the sopranos yet...
I do have the first season of Firefly on my 'puter though but for now I'm hooked on Battlestar

wow! super excited about the "a song of fire and ice" series! that sounds amazing. I guess it will be on TV a year from now or so... That's super promising though. The books are great.

the next ones i was thinking of was Rome and Entourage. They both looks promising, and truth be told I like the shorter series as they aren't quite the HUGE undertaking like Sopranos was.

Any 6' under fans? That is still better than deadwood for me i think...
