DJ -- "Digital Jockey"
Interesting and informative article on the future of DJ style entertainment - my own personal opinion is that it's the leaps into new mediums that's kept the scene alive and interesting (remember Simon's article about Optimo? as with everything else they were way ahead of their time..).

Re: DJ -- "Digital Jockey"
Theres definatly a lot more laptops being used in dance music for live shows, which is ok,but not as good as seeing someone like Orbital running around and doing there stuff.I was watching Kraftwerk the other day and the performance of 4 blokes on a laptop just looked so fucking boring. Most intresting person i saw with a laptop is Dressed In Wires, who usually smashes his stuff up at the end of a set, last time i saw him it was with a chair...
Ipod mixing seems a bit of a wank IMO, stick with the 12"s Quote:

Besides, Kraftwerk sitting motionless is part of the charm. They're robots after all. |
