"Please Help Me" and its lost children.
1st Theory
"Please Help Me"... I love this song. Always have. And this "Peach Tree" track which I've, pathetically, just heard for the first time a few weeks ago - it's beyond amazing. Is there a connection between the two, though? Think about the song names and the rhyming involved. And they're structurally, rhythmically and atmospherically similar, too. Does anyone else think that "Peach Tree" is like a spiritual successor to the classic UW track "Please Help Me"? 2nd, more ridiculous theory This one's a bit more of a stretch, but does anyone think that "To Heal" is part two of "Please Help Me"? I mean, not only is the phrase "Please help me to heal" grammatically correct, but it just fucking feels good. And doesn't anyone think they're excellent companion pieces to each other musically? Regarding theory #2, refer here to I'm guessing a similar theory....

Re: "Please Help Me" and its lost children.
As we've heard in the recent unearthing of the pre-Dubno tracks, Underworld will sometimes recycle or rework certain elements into later tracks. And also, some works-in-progress take a while to see the light of day (e.g. "Biro the Leggy" took perhaps 5+ years to become "Beautiful Burnout"; "Always Loved A Film" has been in the works for a similar length of time).
But i don't think the rather distinct tracks "Please Help Me" and "Peach Tree" or "To Heal" share a common origin. They're similar in that they all have a deep synth pad base, but it's not the same sound or key. Yes, they mix well together, but as i've learned with a few ambient mixes, many lush tracks do dovetail well, since you needn't worry as much about rhythm and BPM. Re: "Please Help Me" and its lost children.
speaking of "to heal"
has anyone else noticed that bits of "to heal" sound A LOT like the outro to Cowgirl (as played on the... oh I forget which tour it was - but I think it was that first post-Emerson pre-Price tour?) like at Ultra that year |

![]() Meanwhile, everyone check the aforementioned similarities between "Banstyle" and "Best Mamgu Ever" - separated by 11 or so years. We reference what we know. ![]()
