Re: Drift Ep. 3, Part 2: Custard Speed Talk
Cool - glad to hear that bit* developed into a full song
Anyone else having download issues? When I clicked the download link, it only provided the cover for the mp3. * There was a short promo video for an upcoming show, from their last tour, which used like a 30 second segment of the intro This is what I was talking about -> (edit) Never mind about the download issues, if you click the link from the "'Custard Speedtalk' is here; Spring has arrived ☀" email you can actually download the track, but if you follow the "Free download" link on https://underworldlive.com/drift/epi...tard-speedtalk , the email you receive only provides the album cover (and not the song) Last edited by joethelion; 04-04-2019 at 03:01 PM. |

Lovely!
Really like the 'Rezzy' opening tones. Overall the track has quite a nice spring vibe to it. Great to be an Underworld fan these days. |

Re: Drift Ep. 3, Part 2: Custard Speed Talk
This is lovely!
Each Drift track has surprised me in some way, and I love their willingness to experiment and develop ideas in various stages. I've also listened to each release dozens of times and am finding that tracks that didn't connect at first eventually do. Of course, I'm a biased fan, but there are those tracks from their back catalog that I'm not fond of. Everything in Drift has been enjoyable. If this series keeps up, we'll have such a great collection to sort into various playlists, from deep dub to techno to ambient to improv jazzy jams. Indeed, fun time to be a fan! Thanks UW

Re: Drift Ep. 3, Part 2: Custard Speed Talk
So, the film version and the download version are actually different.
They first diverge at 1:20 when the Film edit has an additional 30 seconds in an extended intro. They then converge again, except for a couple sound/vocal effects that are only present in the download version at 4:19 (download) and 4:56 (download). They then diverge again at 5:21 (download)/6:00 (film) when the beats drop out on the download version until they come back in at 5:52 (download) and they reconverge. At 8:51 (film), there's a high-pitched whine for a few seconds in the Film edit that is not in the Download. It then diverges again at about 9:12 (download)/9:44 (film) for the outro. Although the outros sound similar, they are not identical, with the film outro being a few seconds longer also. |
