when they came on r&k shared a joke or something and then they were looking all over the stage for something that had obviously gone missing!? karl even legged it off stage and came back on 20-30 secs later shrugging his shoulders. wonder wot it was!? karl?
i thought the crowd seemed a little reserved at the beginning - i was at the front to the right jumping up and down cheering like a loon when they came on and the people round me were all a bit quiet - so much so that i felt a bit self concious!
karl got everyone going tho and by the time the lovely dark train chords washed out of the speakers i think everyone was up for it
loads of space to jump around (and not much queueing at the bar
) and move to the front without annoying anyone. i think the volume was a bit low for the first half - turn it up to 11 next time
on the plus side the sound was really clear & not distorted. beautiful burnout sounded lush.
at one point (poss just before TMO when they got the giant geronimo condoms out) they tried to put up a big canvas screen or something. a cable came down from the ceiling and some stage guys attached it to this huge white sheet which was behind the mixing desk. they started hoisting it up but it came loose and landed on the monitors behind the boys, and they ended up just stuffing it behind them. i wonder wot it was? did they have some extra screen or summat in dublin anyone?? it kinda reminded me of that parachute movie they had on uwlive a little while ago. not sure if it was the same thing or not.
