Not that I'm exactly au fait with contemporary writers, Pelevin the one who when on form is certainly a bona fide genius. Mysticism, zen, drugs, humour, emmmmmmmm........Russian gangsters, garden sheds- he has it all. First encounter was his "Clay Machine Gun" oor Buddha's Little Finger in the US I think.
