I tried it as you suggested. In the beginning it sounds reasonable, but after 2,5 minutes JAL just gets too off.
JAL and long
This is just a sloppy mix (I roughly spent 9 minutes on it) to get a sense of how the two tracks are together, so dont expect it to be perfect

I used a radio rip I had floating around on my hdd, so JAL ends a bit cut off
. Since i was recording anyway, I messed around with "dark and long" till that track was finished.
